Climate Education
Climate Education is a specialist course dedicated to one of the most pressing issues for our planet: climate change.
It takes the next generation on a journey of scientific discovery and learning, driven by interactive and digital tools.

Climate education
A lesson on climate change
It is natural for the climate to change, develop and adapt. However what scientists and experts are highlighting today is a relentless acceleration in climate change since the Industrial Revolution.
The over-exploitation of natural resources, the abuse of fossil sources, pollution, and many other human activities have caused the climate to change faster and faster, to the point where the equilibrium of the planet is at risk.
The rise in the average temperature on Earth is the first warning, but not the only one: on this course, we will discover the causes, effects and consequences highlighted by scientists on ecosystems, species, and biodiversity.
The benefits of this course
EXPERIMENT WITH MEDIA-EDUCATION METHODS
The proposed tools are based on the media education methodology: various media such as videos, images, infographics, “talking” graphics, and interactive maps stimulate perceptual and cognitive processes and, through the data, encourage active, curious, and engaged learning.
LEARNING BY DOING
The teaching process is based on a student-centred and project-based learning approach: the teacher-led interactive training phase is enhanced by group projects that allow students to experiment with different roles and tasks in the development phase, as well as experience the decision-making process in the various phases.
COMING TOGETHER REMOTELY
The Schools4Change platform allows learners to appreciate the work that other European secondary schools are doing through the publication of projects in the Shared Gallery. An opportunity to compare work and learn from others’ examples thanks to a platform that guarantees schools unlimited access and free resources.
How does it work?
There are a number of resources available in the learning section: tests, a specialist documentary, an in-depth infographic, a chapter with analytic screens, and a workshop section.
Classes work creatively to develop a group project through which they can express their country’s views on climate change.
Students will become journalists: their task will be to create an amateur video that gives insights on positive or negative aspects about the climate change consequences on their home country on one of these topics: climate change, circular economy and energy transition.
Videos can also be shot with a smartphone.
The creative projects will be uploaded to the Gallery and shared with all participating European schools. The best projects will be recognised at the Awards4Change final event.
